Learn how to manage your subscription to Generis email messages

The Generis team is here as a resource for your ministry. That's why we regularly share information, resources, and opportunities by email. But, we also hate SPAM, which is why we strive to honor your communication preferences and never send you email if you don't want to receive it*.

*Note: You cannot unsubscribe from communications related to contracts between us and you (or organizations you represent).

Managing Your Generis Email Subscriptions

Using the Links at the Bottom of an Email Message

If you have received a "bulk" email message from Generis, at the bottom you should see something like the following. Note that one-to-one messages from someone on the Generis team won't include these links.

To update your subscriptions,

  • Click Manage preferences
  • A webpage will open. Review the subscription options.
  • Check/uncheck subscriptions based on your preferences.
  • Click the Update Communication Preferences at the bottom of the list

Submitting a New Subscription Form

Can't find an existing "bulk" email message from Generis? You can simply fill out a new subscription form.

Tip: We match your subscription preferences based on your email address. If you're already receiving messages to one email address, but you fill out the subscription form with a new email address, you'll get messages at both addresses.

  • Click this link to access the subscription preferences form
  • Enter your email address
    • If you see a link appear below the email address field (see the screenshot below), then, to protect your privacy, you will need to complete an extra few steps in order to re-subscribe. See the instructions below.

    • If you don't see a link appear, simply fill out the rest of the Subscription Update Form
  • Click Submit

Re-subscribing to Generis Email Content

To protect your privacy, our email system is configured so that we can't re-subscribe you to our email lists if you have unsubscribed yourself. For that reason, there are a few extra steps you need to take. Please review these instructions and contact us if you get stuck.

  1. Click this link to access the subscription preferences form
  2. Enter your email address in the Subscription Update Form
  3. When you enter your email address, if your email address is unsubscribed, a link will appear below the email field. Click the "Looks like you've opted out..." link. (If no link appears in this step, then you're probably new to us! It's a pleasure to meet you! Just finish filling out the form to sign up for free resources and info. from our team!)
  4. Check your email for a re-subscribe email. It may be in your junk mail folder or, if you use Gmail, in your "Promotions" folder.
  5. Click the Update preferences button in the email. A new web page will open.
  6. Complete the subscription preferences page and click the Update your preferences button at the bottom. Note that if you complete steps 4 and 5, then you do not need to finish filling out the form where you started.

The Generis Privacy Policy and Data Protection Policy

Generis has written a detailed Privacy Policy (an externally focused document that explains your rights and what you can expect from us with regard to your privacy) and Data Protection Policy (an internally focused document that helps us manage our data decisions internally) that govern how we operate as an organization. We strive to treat you as we would want to be treated, so you'll find that these policies give you a lot of protections.
